O/S Daily Thread Tuesday 30th September

Options
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

    Morning all

Just noticed how much darker the mornings are now.

Had a few horrible days , thinking we would have to have our cat put to sleep, as he was drinking a lot, not eating and lethargic. Yesterday a HUGE furball was yucked up and he's fine, and ok to be left with our lovely neighbours whilst we go away. I can allow myself to be excited about trip now. Pets can break our hearts can't they.

    Hope JackieO doing ok.

Right, off to have breakfast, then going swimming, hugs where needed to all poor lies, two and four legged

    Morning everyone

Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x

Hugs and get well wishes to those that want/need them.

Now light, very dull, overcast and dreich, but forecast says it will brighten up later.

DH up and gone to work early but not stupid early. DS1 up and gone to work.

Dinner last night was pork chops, mash, carrots, broccolli, HG green beans, peas and gravy, ice cream for dessert. Tonight will be gammon, egg, onion sauce, potatoes, and peas.

Did get a couple of jobs done, so will get some more done today, just taking it steady though. Started my online grocery order yesterday so that’s booked, will amend if needed between now and delivery.

    Take care x

    Keep safe and well x

O''f to work in a sec, I dropped hubby off about an hour ago.
Molly , JackieO, Lame wolf, I hope you are all ok. Hugs to MM, Elona, Hilly & anyone else in need.
I had a cuddle with 2 of my grand daughters yesterday, the 6 year old isn't very cuddly but we had a nice chat, the 3 year old threw herself into my arms & we had a cuddle 'til she saw a friend she wanted to play with, then I held the baby until the dog decided she needed to sit on my knee, oh what it is to be popular!
I need to find some yarn & a crochet hook, I'm starting a baby blanket as I'm down to my last one & I know a few pregnant ladies, so I'll crochet & lunchtime & quilt in the evenings.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.

Fine here but I think it's to rain later. The washing is on the airer anyway just in case.

Had a fabulous time in The Hague with DS2, his flat is really big - had to put together most of the furniture he had bought but we managed! Saw a lot of the city, always better when you know someone who lives there and it's lovely, very chilled. The weather was fantastic too, really warm and sunny. Went to Leidon too, what a lovely place. Spent yesterday afternoon in Amsterdam on our way home (not my favourite place but DD had never been). Hard to leave DS2 but feel better knowing that he has a nice flat in a great place and is doing well.

JackieO - How are you? Hope all went well.
TTFTM - Are you feeling better?

I will catch up with your news later. Back to work today, that's our little holiday over, just half term in 2 weeks! Take care. XX
  • Morning everyone :D

I keep meaning to post every day and then something gets in the way :o
Anyway off to autism parenting course this morning for a few hours and then this afternoon will be spent starting work on DS birthday cake. It's his birthday today but he's having a few friends round on to play at the weekend and he wants a. Minecraft cake. Coloured all the icing yesterday but I need to make Steve, a creeper, a pig and some TNT. Some of you will either have no clue what I am on about or know exactly what I mean :rotfl:
Tea I had planned but not sure if we should just all have chicken nuggets and chips with DS, its one of his faves so seems mean not to let him pick his birthday tea.
Not loads of OS going on, just the bare minimum. I was brewing a batch of citrus cleaner and I can't remember how long ago I made it. I think it might be ready for straining and using now :rotfl:

Hugs and spoons all round xxxx

All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.

    morning all !

    judi (hugs)
your son will look for a while chick, when my older brother came off heroin and alcohol he looked like the walking dead for about 4 months. Absolutely awful, after four months he started putting weight on, colour came to fine face. Now he is a very healthy weight of 11 stone, in a very happy relationship with a little boy who is now 4yrs old.
Rehab worked for him and he is so much happier. Bit of advice though, keep him busy, will help keep his mind off things. My brother fully redecorated the house and the garden within six months lol

Sounds like a fab night hilstep

hope all pottlies are feeling better

bitsy lol i feel your pain ahaha :rotfl:
beware if he gets into warhammer its even worse urghh

its weird outside, pretty sure its going to lash it down. Yesterday was lovely and the sky went so dark about half six. Rained a little and i managed to get ds2 to play in the rain. His sensory issues stop him. He started saying "mammy mammy the rains warm" :)

Lil bro didn't go to therapy, i was fuming, but thought well thats life. So spent 30 minutes reading while waiting for ds2 to finish football. Didn't get home till half five, went dizzy and faint, so ended up in a$da buying fresh basic 12" pizza for £2 for 2 (bargain) and p0tato croquettes for a £1. OH didn't get back till 9.
Paid and ordered two new pairs of glasses £85  luckily they were buy one get one free.

Plan for today get dads flu jab
    Make curry for tea
remove rest of stuff from front room
    MOT the van
    TAX the van
    Phone schools for appointments
    make bread and snacks
attempt to get carpets delivered and orderd for monday,

Basically i'm staying home and working and doing lots of os stuff.
So doped up with a cuppa

    Hi everyone,

Back from Yorkshire. I went over to Mum's to see estate agents and foraged some cooking apples so I need to do something with them. I also want to take the sloes out of the freezer to make the gin.

I have to go over to DS' this afternoon to meet a gardener - they want a quote for some turfing.

In between I will try to do some quilting.

JO, LW and Molly, I hope you are as well as you can be. TTFtM, I hope DH's day is a better.
