Is it possible to get a detailed set of yearly accounts for a Limited company from the companies house website?
IF so, do limited companies have to publish these account every year with the companies house?

Yes and yes.
Follow this link to their webcheck service. Find the company and order their accounts. Costs £1 per set. I do this every so often to keep track of competitors. They probably also offer a monitoring service.

The vast majority of limited companies are "small" or "medium" so are allowed to file abbreviated accounts at Companies House which show a lot less detailed information than the full accounts. For example a typical small company only has to submit a balance sheet and limited notes which don't even show the profit made in the year. The only way to get full detailed accounts of a small or medium company is to ask them to give them to you - if you are a major customer or otherwise have influence they may do this upon request rather than risk souring your trading relationship.0
