  • Also e-mailed Trethowans this morning, explaining that I had complained to the DVLA and if they did not drop the case against me I would also be making a complaint to the SRA tomorrow.

    They replied:
I write further to your emails dated 14 January 2016 and 15 January 2016.

I can confirm that my client will not be pursuing this matter further.

    Regards,

VICTORY! Thanks to everyone who helped with this.

Yay! Well done you, against a nasty solicitors firm who DO sue people.

A fine example of how to deal with them. I hope others find this thread rather than old ones, if they Google appropriate words such as:

AINTREE PARKING CHARGE TRETHOWANS - FINE CANCELLED.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You may want to drop a line to the Parking Prankster on this one. Seems the DVLA did the right thing in pointing out the law to the lawyers.

That's the law that says if you have an electronic link (they do), you must abide by the KADOE contract (they signed it) and in there is the requirement to follow POFA is they want to hold the keeper liable (they did but were not legally entitled to)

Go back to the DVLA and ask for a copy of the last DVLA Ranger audit on Trethowans. You may see you were not an isolated case.
