Best way to save

Hi, Im looking to save around £10,000-£15,000 for the deposit for my first home. I currently save around £100 per week. I have an isa with Natwest that are only paying 0.5%. What is the best option? Also does anyone know if I was to open a savings account will the bank do a credit check?
