in Credit cards
Hi
would appreciate some help on use of a credit card here as not sure if this is possible..
we have £10K in a variable HSBC mortgage (6.75%)
to minimise the debt/interest paid we would like to take out £10K on a credit card (or 2 if we cant get high enough credit) - we have good ratings
We could pay this off inside 12 months, possibly 9 months, 6 at an absolute stretch
There is lots of 0% balance transfers but they seem to only apply to existing credit card debt
Anyone know of a credit card that would allow a cash transfer or some other way of paying off this debt ??
Obviously the preference would be a minimal fee - £50/75 - but I guess 2% might even work out better
We have done lots of reading here and on www.stoozing.com but we havent found a card where we can do this
any help appreciated
thanks

Te card you are looking for is called a MULE card as it allows money from your credit card to be transfered into a bank account.
MBNA(Virgin Alliance and Leicester)MINT ,Lloyds all allow this to be done either over the phone or they send you Balance Transfer cheques.
You can't have two MNBA accounts(They don't normally allow it) .
You may have to have three cards to reach you £10,000 balance in such a short period of time, this is likely to incur two or three lots of Balance Transfer fees at say 3%.
You don't have to have three of the above accounts you would only need the one to allow access to your bank account, the funds can come from other credit cards into one of the above credit cards you write yourself a cheque the funds appear in your bank account then pay off the mortgage.
You should be looking at credit cards with a long 0% period Nat West and Capital One are 12mths or over at the moment.
Hope that helps.Previously known as Bokken, registered at MSE in Nov 04,computer glich deleted my access but it is fun building up my stars from scratch,again.:D0
