Dealing with unreliable electrician

Hello

So we arranged for an electrician to come around and what he has done has been good. He said he would next come around on Thursday just gone. He didn't turn up so I phoned him Friday he was very blunt and rude. He said he was on holiday and that he had text me and my dad that fact (which was BS) I couldn't be arsed to argue with him at the moment as I was at work and i need to check with my Dad.

He said he would be back today ..so ive checked with my Dad no phone call.

Ok I understand trades people are busy but so am I there are a million other electricians out there all im asking is a little bit of common curtsey and professionalism.

Im think I will phone him again tonight nicely to see what he says but if he is rude again I'll tell him not to bother to come back as i was born at night not last night.

Anyone would think they need the money apparently not.

has he been paid for the jobs he has done for you up to now or is there any money owing to him?

Also, is he part-way through a particular job for you or is it something new that you would like him to start?

We had a similar problem with a roofer we got through the organization called A Rated. Initially came and did an excellent job for us and were so impressed we phoned him for further work.

He agreed to come on this particular day. Never turned up and I phoned and phoned no reply. However when I did manage to speak to him he explained he had to take his children to football hence the reason he did not come. I then made an appointment for him to do the work again and guess what we have never heard from him since.

My advice is get someone else.

I would have been onto phone with someone else after the first time. There plenty of other fish in the seas as they say.

It is so disheartening to have bad workmen. We are in the middle of a renovation project, and quite a few workmen have missed out on repeat business, by basically being p1ss poor at timekeeping. not just being late, literally not turning up at all, and making poor excuses - which is frustrating when you have taken a day off work to wait for them
The opposite of what you know...is also true

He wanted me to pay him in advance on the first job he did for us.
I flatly refused and on reflection I please I did. Probably would have just gone off with my money.
