Can you remove a default from a credit report?

In 20012 I left the UK for 2 years. Before leaving I made sure my accounts were up to date and at £0 - however a £1300 overdraft facility was still in place. I thought all DD's were cancelled and asked the bank to cancel my platinum card (which they didn't).
When I returned, I went back to Lloyds to get new cards arranged and was told that the account was over the overdraft limit. I immediately put money back in to get within the limit, with the plan being to fully pay off the overdraft when my savings from overseas had arrived. A month later, the overdraft fees put me back over and the bank immediately sent the account to collections.
Over two months I paid off the collections agency, but having just looked at my credit report, there is a default and an arrears on my history and my score is just 507.
I'm taking steps to improve this, but can I do anything about the default/arrears? As they were paid off in time, can I ask the collections agency to remove the default (less maybe an admin charge)?

Nope, you defaulted and its accurate unfortunately so no grounds for removal, and it would be lloyds that have to remove it even if it was possible as they put it there0

Hi IAMSAM
Sorry, I'm a little puzzled as to how the debt even arose to begin with? Was there a monthly fee for the Platinum card, whether you spent on it or not? And was this what ended up taking you over the overdraft limit?
You may wish to add a Notice of Correction to your credit report. This will allow you to explain any mitigating reasons behind any adverse information potential lenders see on your file. Read more here:
