Additional State Pension

What are the new rules regarding additional state pension? As far as I understand the new state pension of £148 is due to come into effect in 2016, my wife gets additional state pension already because she made extra contributions. Will she still get extra when it comes into force or is £148 the maximum she'll get?

Much dust yet to settle, but there is I believe a no worse off guarantee. So she may not therefore get all her acrued ASP on top of the £148 pw.0

The legislation has now been passed and the single tier state pension will be available to those who become eligible to receive state pension on or after 6 4 16.
See page 44 onwards.
It should soon be possible for your wife to apply for a state pension statement calculated under the new rules.

As I understand it, the new rates don't apply to anybody already in receipt of state pension or anybody who will receive it (or be entitled) before 6/4/16.0

I read this as indicating that the OP's wife was entitled to ASP ( rather than currently receiving SP including ASP) and was enquiring what would happen under the new system.
Clearly, anybody already receiving or entitled to receive SP under current rules is not affected by the new arrangement.0 -
Xylophone, you are exactly right, she is already in receipt of sp and asp. So will she the extra she gets now on top of the £148, or not. It won't be fair if the latter as it would have been a waste of time making the extra contributions?0

As said before she will not be getting the £148, it does not apply to those who reach pension age before 2016!

Sorry, but you offer no explanation other than she will not get it? Why won't she get it? And what will she get? That's the whole point in asking the question in the first place!0
