Finding who has your debt

Hi All,

So I signed up to Noddle which is essentially Experian but free,
I've dropped the link if anyone fancies giving it a try.
https://www.noddle.co.uk/

Anyway looking at my finance breakdown I can see the defaults, most I'm aware who owns (debt collection agency) it.

I have one from Orange a couple years ago and I'm worried I haven't done anything about it so I'm trying to find which debt collection agency owns it, should Orange be able to tell me?

Thanks

    Hi ML

Sometimes a debt collection agency will update a record on your credit report to reflect it now being in their name. Presumably that isn't the case as far as this one is concerned.

Orange ought to be able to tell you who they passed/sold your debt on to. Bear in mind though that these kinds of debts can change hands on multiple occasions so you may have to follow the trail of breadcrumbs...

That all said, the very act of obtaining an up to date credit report creates a "footprint" which can alert creditors to your whereabouts, and may mean that this particular collector now makes itself known to you.

    Regards

Er, no. Noddle is Callcredit. Completely separate to Experian.

I just meant in the sense you can find out the same basics as what experian will tell you but for free.

I guess I will try and ring orange then follow the trail. I guess they will eventually send a letter to me but I don't want to sit on it when I have the money to pay but no one to send it to.
