Hi All,

My home was burgled last week and I had camera insurance with a company named Aaduki, they are offering to replace 2 cameras that were stolen for a total price of £3600 but I have found 1 camera for £3500 which I would prefer as those two are now quite old.

They have basically said they won't do that and I need to have the two that were stolen. Is that quite normal as I don't see how they are actually loosing out?

Insurers are always concerned by people potentially liquidating their assets by losing them/ having them stolen to be able to upgrade and so your request may be ringing alarm bells to them.

I assume the prices you are quoting are list prices rather than the price the insurer has negotiated with their preferred supplier? It could well be that they get better discounts on the older models.

Check your policy wordings on if you ahve to have like for like replacements or if you have other options
