Toshiba 48L3451DB - 48 in LED-backlit LCD TV - Smart TV - @ £399.99 (cant find many reviews for it)
Panasonic TX-50A400B 50-inch Widescreen 1080p Full HD LED TV with Freeview @ £449.99
LG 47LN540V 47-inch Widescreen 1080p Full HD LED TV @ £449.99
or
LG 47LB580V 47-inch Widescreen 1080p Full HD Wi-Fi Smart TV @ £499.99
Any comments on these or any other recommendation would be very welcomed

FWIW I've got a Toshiba and LG, I much prefer the interface and menus on the LG to the Toshiba.0

Easy for me - Pansonic. It's the biggest. I assume you've checked that it does YouTube and iPlayer. Is it Freeview or FreeviewHD? Doesn't really matter if you're using a STB with it, but it must be old stock if it's only Freeview.0

Get the Panasonic - from Richer Sounds, 5 yr guarantee thrown in.0

I think both brands are good, but I've got an LG tv, and I'm more than happy with it. So, I'd say LG.0

Many thanks. the screen size difference between 47 and 50 inches isnt a major factor for me but reliability is.
Our current tv died in less than 2.5 years (samsung). From asking around Im hearing good things about LG."enough is a feast"...old Buddist proverb0 -
Panasonic have been very good for decades, LG have been on the way up. I'd put Panasonic down as being more reliable. I've had plenty of Panasonic TVs in the family and the only one that failed did so after 20+ years. Again, unless there's something wrong with the BIGGER TV, that's what I'd have. You'll benefit every time you turn the TV on.0
