New Lenovo Tablet dropping wireless internet

Options
Hi I bought a Lenovo Tablet A8 50 and have had it about 1 week now.
I have never had a tablet before so I'm not sure if the problem is usual.

Each time the tablet hibernates it looses the wifi connection. The only way I can get it back is to turn off the WLAN in settings and reconnect to my home network.
The tablet wants to connect to someone's open internet before mine.

any suggestions please?

I have never had any problems with my Lenovo tab.

I don't use it that often but it is always connected when I wake it up.

Can't recall if you have to tick "connect automatically" for the particular router you are after. Can you ask it to forget the other wifi?

Hmm, I have no idea - I want it to forget the other wifi but don't know how.

Settings- Wlan then on the network you wish to forget long press.

An option to "forget" should appear

Thanks, it works but keeps re appearing,
    Never mind.
I have found the check box you mentioned on settings, WLAN , : ,advanced, Keep WLAN on during sleep, always...

It has been checked for 'always' but doesn't seem to work that well.

Thanks I will try that this evening.
My wifi has a fantastic signal yet it wants to connect to a weaker signal from somewhere else. It seems to kick itself off my signal and 'hunt' for the other.
I am beginning to feel a bit disappointed with it.
I have only had it a few days yet it won't connect automatically to my internet.

Am I expecting too much from it?

Hi, I have done a factory reset.
I have used a brand new router,
I have set/ fixed the wireless channel to 9
and it still keeps dropping connection each time it goes into sleep mode.
I am with Talktalk using a Huawei HG533 router...

I am really disappointed is there any suggestions on how to get the wireless internet to keep connection?

My phone, Moto E, works perfectly on the old and new set up... I have wasted so much time with this......

    can any one help please?

That seems to have improved things a bit, thanks.
It worked really well at my friends house - as expected, but I didn't run the BBC I player for long as they are on low download.

When I got home the tablet worked much better. It kept the connection after 'hibernation' but once the tv was turned on things got worse - chromecast came up as an option for wifi. When I turned my laptop on it went back to being awful.
I'm guessing that there is too many wifi things in my house that are messing with the tablet.
