Could I now reclaim bank charges?

Options
Hi I'm a bit confused as to the rules for claiming bank charges and in light of the latest win from the gentlemen in the news would like some help.

In 2007 I had to give up work due to illness and have been unable to work since I had no income and not able to claim benefits. Also my husband was involved in a very bad car accident caused by an uninsured driver so we had more expense there.

My husband and I got into severe debt one of which was escalating bank charges - they just going up and up we were unable to access even my child benefit for our one son as the charges swallowed it up

I did try on many occasions to sort it out with the bank but their story changed every time I phoned it was either ring before the charges go in or ring after the charges go on

customer service advisors even stated that they were going to put a charge on our house for this debt (I don't know whether this can be done or not) the staff always felt quite threatening and not helpful not good when you are struggling.

In the end we sold our house as we could not afford repayments

We are still paying those debts off under an agreement drawn up by the money advice team one of the debts is our old current account debt which is purely charges !

I've not felt able to tackle this with the bank until now and still am not sure
Have I left it too late to try or isthere no harm in trying ?

Very surprised the usual 'Bank Defenders' on this site have not replied to
    your post.

Not to worry - suggest you wait for the outcome of Orfoster v Lloyds Bank appeal hearing.
