Poor service from Halfords 'we fit'

My girlfriend had Halfords order a new wingmirror glass for her Toyota Celica and had them fit it when it arrived, after having a look at it myself I realised that they just stuck a new one over the old cracked mirror and it really did not sit very well, it would catch every time you adjusted the position of the mirror.

Returning to the store they said maybe it would be best to try a different brand which again, they had to order in. She returned once and they sent it back because she hadn't turned up, but they hadn't phoned to say it was ready to try and re-fit again.

On a third return they had the new mirror glass, and again, were fitting it(which is a chargeable service), both the original mirror and the first mirror they fitted were removed, they also told her they have removed the 'demister pad', she told me they simply cut the wires and left them hanging loose in the wing mirror housing, is this a hazard? I'm surprised their mechanics would do this. Do you think we have ground to complain? Not trying to make a quick buck but I don't feel that they left the car in a safe state, and removing the demister pad was only mentioned once done.

They ordered the wrong part.

This is a ten second job on most cars.

Bought and fitted one to the BiLs Vectra last week cost £12 from EuroCarParts.

My biggest issue is the car now doesn't have a heated door mirror and as they have cut the wires it will be a pain to put back to spec.
