Am I due compensation for defective bathroom tiles
In March this year (2014) I had my old bathroom suite taken out and a brand new one fitted - including tiling the four walls from ceiling to floor. However, after approximately 3 weeks I noticed that the majority of the tiles had started to 'craze' on the glaze of the tile . To cut a long story short, the manufacturer has accepted - without question -responsibility and offered to replace all 18 boxes of tiles and pay for the bathroom to be re-tiled. However, this is not quite as simple as it first seems. Re-tiling the bathroom is going to involve taking out the whole bathroom suite, including the fitted bathroom furniture, re-tiling and putting back all furniture and fittings without any damage being incurred. Several tillers have been out to have a look at the job and only one is prepared to undertake the work. I have been told it is a total bathroom re-fit. This apparently will take longer than the original re-fit as the furniture has removed and re-fitted in perfect condition. I would like to know whether , in addition to the manufacturer supplying the tiles and paying for the tiling/re-fit, I am due any compensation for the disruption that their faulty batch of tiles will incur and how would I go about this
