  • the problem is i am not really sure what to even go into. at the moment i work in a factory job and it is really bad. i just dislike a lot about it but it's not somewhere i can progress or want to progress.
graphic design was an option but after hearing about internship i'm not sure any more. i just don't know. i decide on one career and then people say it will be competitive and i'm constantly put off. i feel like giving up altogether as my chances of finding a decent paying job seem slim without a form of higher education/qualifications, and i am not sure what qualifications i even need to get. why would a graphic design firm not consider me as an intern?

Because, in my experience, they would expect a college-leaver to be in their early 20s. If I was interviewing for an intern I wouldn't choose someone that was 30.

When you say you are creative, what do you mean? Can you draw?

Why not register on Guardian jobs and type in trainee and see if anything comes up where you could train on the job?
    Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

    December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.10
  • If I was the OP I would, stick it out at the parents for a while longer, saving as much each month as possible, for either future rent costs, or to use to increase earning potential by retraining for a new job or something.

I'm not far away from the OP actually, I'm 26 and moved back in with my parents after a break up, currently on quite a bit more than the OP but I'm stopping at my parents anyways, until I can pay off some debts, and save up for a mortgage deposit, which will hopefully be late next year, when I'm 28.

That's a possibility, but I would think registering on any of those well-known websites would mean that the candidate is up against a LOT of competition.
