parking eye town quay southampton

A friend has recently recieved a parking fine from the parking eye company for parking at town quay. The friend in question was dropping a minor off to do some fishing with other friends on the quay. The minor, on arrival to the quay had a serious stomach upset and had to use the toilet facilities, the friend who was dropping him off went along to make sure he was ok. Due to this the stay in the car park was nearly an hour instead of a quick drop off which is what was intended.

Is it going to be worth trying to appeal this parking charge or is just paying up going to be the route to go?

Thanks for any advice in advance

Read the NEWBIES thread on the opening page of this forum. Then read it again as you will find the procedure for not paying these outrageous penalties.

Your friend is just another victim which has fallen prey to a money extraction process which needs outlawing but the experts on this forum will help you sort it.

Don't panic but follow the Coupon Mad NEWBIES thread to the letter and you will not pay anything.

Mitigating circumstances count for nothing with PE just follow firstly the initial appeal. PE will reject this and then go to POPLA and win.
With this car park this may now take some time as you will learn from other threads. Search Southampton Town Quay and see what may turn out to be a very interesting story.

If you do a forum search you will find this car park crops up quote often. It is currently being investigated by DVLA, so you are in good company.

Follow newbie thread and pay nothing!

"Recently" - bit more specific, please.

As said ,lots of info on this car park and appealing in general, but has friend had NtK? date of NtK? Are we still within the POPLA window? Have they appealed yet etc etc.

More info we have on basics, the more we can tailor advice. But watch out locally for newspaper items on parking and that area specifically.

Yes an ntk has been received, within the last week. The 'recently' that the pcn is for is within the last month, about 3 weeks ago I believe. Friend is going to be appealing once I can get in contact with them to explain that it is very much worth doing so, and will be using the letter template outlined in the newbie thread.

You would be stark raving mad to pay this! Come on there is even another thread about the same car park on page one near yours right now, where they are doing their POPLA appeal (which will win). You could copy the template first appeal from the Newbies thread then copy the other person's POPLA appeal at POPLA stage and still win without making a single change to the words - and doing it all online, without even costing yourself the price of a stamp!

Search the forum for 'Town Quay' to find all recent threads easily.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

Just a quick question, my friend is going to be sending the letter in reply to the ntk tomorrow, was just wondering whether to advise them to sign it off in their own name as was detailed in the notice to keeper (as the keeper not driver obviously) been reading up so I can advise them but lots of info to take in and I'm not particularly good at this sort of thing. My friend is absolutely useless too! It's only as it was mentioned to me and I searched on the net that I even realized it was possible to appeal successfully. My friend was all for paying it but was just suspicious as no window ticket etc....

    Edit..

Nevermind just looked over the letter template again and seen that it should indeed be signed off by the keeper!

You need to closely follow this thread over on PePiPoo which is dealing with the 'bigger picture' at Town Quay, Southampton - strategically significant.
