We have a mortgage, savings and current account with Santander. My husband has also recently opened a separate account as he has become self employed.
He was recommended to change our current account to their 123 account.
I spent ages on the phone going through the transfer arrangements to then be told we don't qualify as credits will be made from another Santander account. So much for loyalty! !
Bye bye Santander.

Really....just open another account with another bank transfer the money out and back in again.
You can make a lot of profit from a Santander 123 account. I personally don't like Santander so just store savings in the account having the required credits and direct debits and don't actually use it as my main day to day account.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

You ought not to be using a personal account for self employed earnings."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
