Fraud? Payday loan checks on credit report not mine

Just going thru the usual check over of our credit reports and we've found 2 checks from what appear to be pay day loan companies.
We've never used or even enquired about payday loans!
One of the companies is closed today so cant speak to them.
Just spoke tot he other one and they've requested I email in rather than do this over the phone as they cannot find any account with any of my partners details.
2 companies are quickquid.co.uk and wagedayadvance.co.uk, the 2 checks show as:
Wage Day Advance Limited (Cval)
Casheuronet Uk (Sr, Ml, Ct, Tac, Cval)
One shows as anti money laundering and the other shows as Administration review. But we have no ties whatsoever to either of these companies.
Have emailed them requesting further info as to what the check was for and if any further details can be provided of the info that was given.
She also had a call from the fraud team at the bank last week as to suspect transactions, this isn't sounding good
Oh the report is from noddle.
Anyone else had anythign like this?

Hi Nvram
This does sound unusual. We would not expect a search on a credit file if you had not applied for any credit with that particular business.
Have the businesses responded to you or your partner yet to explain what has happened?
If not we can speak to them for her and try and find out why searches are showing on the credit file.
You can send us an email with your details to paydayhelp@financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
Kind regards
Amy

Hi Amy,
Thanks for the reply
WageDayAdvance flat out refused to help until pushed (not heard back)
Quickquid said they would however are now saying they have no information
Think it's best I send you an email0 -
Have you or your wife started a new role that required a credit check recently?
Hope this gets sorted for you!0
