Fuchsia berries
I've grown quite a few fuchsia plants for a few years in the hopes of encouraging Elephant Hawk moths to use them as a food plant, and they've produced lovely large berries this year.
They're edible, and apparently the taste varies from variety to variety of fuchsia. These are juicy and mildly sweet with a peppery aftertaste. There is no noticeable pit so the berries can be eaten a bit like seedless grapes - in fact I'm thinking salads for them at the moment

Yep
My big hardy fuchsia had berries earlier in the summer but got rather dry and lost the rest. Now flowering profusely again so hope for a second flush.
Mine are juicy, sweet with a slightly dry taste from the skin. Tend to eat them as sweeties. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
I didn't know they were edible, i've a few around the garden.
Thanks will try them.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

We had some on ours for the first time this year, had the plant for a good 7-8 years. Didn't even know they had berries like this before.
Ours weren't that nice to be honest
but planted a few different varieties earlier in the year so maybe they will produce some nicer ones eventually. 0
