They've put half the high st out of business, proper businesses who employed people and paid tax/business rates.

    HTH.
Like Starbucks , Tesco and all the banks?

Not that it's the best idea for a business any more but certainly over the last 15 years there have been more self employed people than ever before. A large portion of those are down to easy selling platforms like Ebay and Amazon. The self employed people pay their own tax and National Insurance, some employing people themselves. Many rent storage space that they pay business rates on.
The problems with high streets in towns and cities across the UK are far more complex than just the internet having an effect.
The world has changed, the sooner property owners, councils and the tax system catches up, the better.

ebay tries to take the high ground and expects sellers do to far more than they are legaly bound to do. but yet ebay only do the minimum the law requires in thier business model. sounds like double standards to me lol

    Why double standards?
ebay are a business and their sole reason for existing is to make profits for its owners and shareholders.
ebay can state what it expects from sellers, but those sellers have the freedom of choice whether to use ebay as a selling platform or not.
