After restoring my laptop after a HDD failure (https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5065713), I am in the process of reinstalling everything.
While doing this I think I have somehow managed to get a virus.
The first thing I did after restoring was to install Avast antivirus. The only programme I have installed that I think the virus could have came from is - http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/ which I have now deleted.
When I go on a different forum, I am receiving some dodgy Russian adverts despite having adblock installed and this happens both on Firefox and Chrome. This is the url for the advert - http://bezochkov.net/videokurs/?utm_source=11015243&utm_content=663980&utm_campaign=53454
Also when I do a google search for anything, like this forum for example I get a warning from Avast and 88.208.7.204/slog appears then whatever site I'm looking for eg. 88.208.7.204/slog/index2.php?v3&sys=google&key=money saving expert&restype=0&resitems=0
I am running Malwarebytes as we speak and Trend-Micro Homecall, but not results as yet.
Any help, would be most grateful.

Malwarebytes, Trend-Micro Homecall and Bitdefender online quickscan have all come back negative.0

If you open Avast, there should be an option somewhere to create a "Rescue Disc" (using either a blank CD or a USB key).
Create the Rescue Disc and boot your PC from that. Hopefully it should get rid of most of the junk.

Then reboot, and try MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware, adwCleaner, etc.

It says I need another computer to do it. I only have my laptop.0

Reun the cleaners above, reset your Browsers and install the MVPS HOSTS file....or just start again with a clean install.0
