  • I was intrigued enough to join the mse forum to reply! I thought some boring, real world out of stock/ unavailable messages with a christmassy twist may work...

The Union of Elf Workers is delighted to inform you that Santa has agreed to the conditions demanded of the elf workers for unlimited minced pies during workshop hours and industrial action has ceased immediately. This means X will now be available in time for Christmas.

or something about a previous product recall like:
An independent investigation commissioned by the Ministry of Christmas Cheer has found the allegations that X was defficient in Christmas cheer to be false, during which time the item has been unavailable. X will now be available to boys and girls that have been good for Christmas 2014.

I get it now!! why not have the available stuff in green, and the already booked stuff in red, then if someone changes their mind, and un books the item, it changes back to green, therefore becoming available again.

It wouldn't be secret then, as anyone looking would know.;)

Eh? I'm actually laughing at how little I understand this thread.

So is there a list of names, and next to it what gift they want. Someone then ticks to say they are buying 'Julie' a 'book'. Now if that person changes their mind and doesn't buy the book, can they not just untick it?

Once they have ticked it can you not say they have to get it.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....
  • I'm afraid they aren't very humerous, but how about these:-

FC (father christmas) revenue and customs (or use north pole r&c) have relaxed the duty on the export of ________ from the north pole so it can once again be brought into the country in time for Christmas.

The elves are Christmas (cream) crackered and won't have time to make a _________ this year. Please feel free to buy (reserve) one instead.

Little Miss Claus is upset because daddy won't let her wear a mini-dress to the Christmas party this year. Why not buy her a ___________ to cheer her up.

    A little more innuendo.
Mrs Claus: "Santa, Is that a __________ in your sack or are you just pleased to see me?"
Santa: "There are definately no ________'s in my sack this year. "
    (Reserve one now)

    I'll keep thinking....

Rather than do everyone's head in why are people being allowed to change their minds? Why can't they just pick a gift and leave it at that.
