ipad keeps restarting

I have an ipad3, I think it is. The one before the current ones were released. I've had it for 13 months.
It has started to randomly restart itself and will sometimes also exit Safari.
Any suggestions please? Will take it to the Apple Store on Monday and see what they say.

Have you updated to ios8? If so it is full of bugs. I'm having similar problems and spoke to someone in Apple store today and he had heard plenty of complaints, but no immediate solution.
Iplayer won't work properly with ios8 either. It fails to download for viewing later.0
