1. This competition is open to residents of the UK, aged 16 years or over, except for employees of Airxcite Ltd t/a Virgin Balloon Flights their families or anyone else associated with this competition.
3. Entries should be submitted via the online ‘app’ or application which can be accessed through by clicking the tab marker ‘WIN’. Entrants must provide all the requested information accurately. Image files must be 72 dpi and between 1MB and 3MB. If the application is unavailable entries can be submitted via email to providing with name, address and contact number.
4. All entries must be received by 23:59 on 31st October, 2014.
5. All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere or have won a prize in any other photographic competition. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Entrants must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it. The entrant must have obtained permission of any people featured in the entries or their parents/guardians if children under 16 are featured. Where an individual or a residential property, belonging to someone other than the photographer are featured, the photographer must acquire permission and may be required to provide written consent.
8. Professional photographers who earn more than 50% of their income from photography are not permitted to enter the competition.
9. Maximum of four entries per person. Late, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries will not be accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for lost entries and proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Entries must not be sent through agencies or third parties.
10. To be considered images must have been taking in England, Scotland and Wales in the last 12 months, fit into the following themes: wildlife, woodland, farm life, landscape views from balloons, views of Virgin balloons and the landscape and must not have been overly altered or enhanced digitally. Entries will be judged based on their originality, composition, whether they capture the character of the British landscape/countryside and tell a story, commercial appeal and the suitability to appear in the calendar.
11. Photographs will be judged in the following process:
Entries will be judged by a panel made up of photographers, balloon pilots and landscape experts (from relevant charities and organisations) who will select one main winner with two runners up.
12. The grand prize winner shall win an Amazon voucher with a face value of £200 and two Virgin Balloon Flights National 7 Day Anytime Flight Voucher. Runners up will each receive one pair of Virgin Balloon Flights National 7 Day Anytime Flight Vouchers each. Prizes are subject to availability.
13. The winners may be required to take part in publicity.
14. The winners’ names and counties will be announced on the Virgin Balloon Flights Facebook page within one month of the closure of the competition.
15. The prizes as described are available on the date of publication. All prizes are non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives.
