Worried about swapping...
Options
Hi there I'm with Npower
on the whole they have been ok with me.
When I get to the end of a deal with them I always search for THERE best deal for me on Energyhelpline.com and move to it. I am now tempted to go elsewhere for a possible £100 a year saving. On insurances I tend to swap companies every year but dont do this with gas and electric.
Do these things run smoothly normally? Can you be a rate tart with these things?

Easy peasy, the energy companies do all the work - really don't worry its a completely stress free transition
Ps I would swap from NPOWER asap, they are horrendousWith love, POSR0 -
It's a piece of p1ss. I do it every year, never had an issue.0

To say 3 to 6 weeks could be a little misleading. It depends on the definition of when the switch process is completed. For me the end of the switch is when I get the final bill from my old supplier, and that is more like 6 weeks plus. Then there are any disputes over final bill, and erroneous bills mth and mths down the line that seem to be typical from NPower.
I am expecting to fight for my credit to be paid back, NPower commonly tell leaving customers in credit that they have a debt and ask for it or say they will waive the 'debt', when the fact is they owe the customer money.Peace.0 -
3 to 6 weeks is not misleading its the industry average .
I have swapped about seven times now with no problems ever .
Never needed anything more than a set of meter readings .0 -
Ok thanks.....Npower are the concern in my consideration. They seem to get most things wrong, moving to another supply will involve their admin and IT systems. Perhaps its their strategy in keeping customers.0

Put it this way. You'll save £100 (plus any possible cashback) for maybe 10 minutes work. That's a rate of return equivalent to £600 per hour...No free lunch, and no free laptop0

My switch to npower is still not completed and it is getting near to a year since I made my initial request. The delay is entirely due to npower.
However I don't think you should use npower's incompetence and bad service as a reason to stay with them.0
