26mins over 2hrs at a shopping complex PCN do I pay i?

I went shopping in an area with 4 or 5 large shops (pc world, lidl, etc).
I know they have stated 2 hours only, but that seems to defet the object of being able to shop! I was 26mins over the time and received a PCN for £50, this seems extremely unfair considering I was shopping.
What should I do?
Any advice would be greatly received.

Or better still, read the NEWBIES sticky thread at top of forum.0

How did you miss the 'PRIVATE PARKING TICKET? NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST' THREAD? Sorry but we are trying to avoid all these 'help what do I do?' threads as it's simply not possible to reply to them all when the advice is already in the sticky threads and is standard. We want you to win and we will help you if you want further advice at independent appeal stage. You haven't even said which PPC this is and whether they are a BPA or IPC member (important that you check so you know in advance whether to gen up on how to win at POPLA or how to win at IAS).
If you don't know what the acronyms mean it's because you skipped the Newbies thread! The words ''do I pay'' have no place in your thread title.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

Sounds like car park pirates. I'm a total newbie to this as well but from what I've read I would say first do not admit to being the driver and second, ask to see the store manager. 26 minutes overstay is not going to cause any "loss of earnings" to the store.0
