Question regarding Warm Home Discount

Hey Guys
I have just helped my Dad, who is not working at the age of 63, due to Chronic asthma. His former suppliers were Npower for electric, and British Gas for gas. He doesn't get anything from British Gas, however he gets a £140 credit at Npower, which I found out was the Warm Home Discount, something Dad doesn't remember applying for.
He is switching to a fixed rate dual fuel with M&S Energy, as of right now, he is in credit with Npower, by about £87, basically £!40 - £53 bill. Will this discount simply be put as a credit on his new M&S energy account? Or, will Npower send him a cheque, and also, will M&S continue giving him this annual credit?
I know little about it, and neither does Dad, but somehow he was given it!

Live for what tomorrow has to bring, not what yesterday has taken away

I *think* he gets it because he receives Pension creditLive for what tomorrow has to bring, not what yesterday has taken away0

If he receives it automatically as part of the core group then it's his electricity supplier as of the middle of July (the 18th I think) that will give it to him. If npower haven't applied it as a credit to his account before he leaves them then they'll send a cheque.0

OK, so technically he's has his £140, he'll get the cheque for remainder, and use that towards his bill. Then in future will M&S automatically know he's part of the scheme, and apply the discount to his dual fuel account as Npower do/did?Live for what tomorrow has to bring, not what yesterday has taken away0

npower might not have applied it to his account yet as they have until the end of the year to do so.0
