Claim

Hi all,

Please could someone help!!!!

I had my PPI rejected some years ago due to the fact that it would be too difficult to prove who supplied the PPi. This advice was given by the Ombudsman. The Loan was with GE Money they did not supply the PPI it was another 3rd party company. My question is I took out the loan in August 2004, I dont believe it was regulated until January 2005. Does this make my claim null and void?

Please can someone advise on whether I would be able to claim anything.

Thanks.

and you would also need proof of the reason you are claiming a miss sale.

I think I would just move on to be honest. It doesn't sound as if you know who the third party is or have any proof anyway.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • I do know who the underwriters are as we have the details on our policy. GE dont want to know. I am more concerned whether I can do anything about it because of the dates. BTW its quite a lot of money I am talking thousands paid in PPI.

Thanks very much for Replying to my POST.

Your complaint for miss-sale is over who sold it to you - if GE loaned you the money, but a 3rd party sold you the PPI you have to complain to them, not GE.

You can try the underwriters but you said in first post you already complained (who to - GE or the PPi seller?), they rejected you, referred to ombudsman who rejected it and so you would be time barred now from another complaint - I am not sure if GE were regulated at the time as it was pre-regulation (some financial companies like banks were registered before that and so have to consider pre-2005 complaints, no idea if GE were included).

Who did you complain to in the first case?

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Send a SAR to GE Money and you will find out who the broker was who introduced you to them for starters
