  • thanks for the advice I will just change the door to a fire rated one, but only ones I have seen are interior fire rated ones. Anyone seen an exterior fire rated door that can be used, cheapest type is good for me - as currently the door is painted dark brown, and its looks horrible!

If the door directly goes from your kitchen to garage why does it need to be an exterior one Diesel?......If it leads directly from the kitchen into the garage it can be an internal firecheck door.

It its an exterior door to the kitchen which opens to the outside and there is a few feet in distance to your garage (ie separate garage) you don't need a firecheck door.

    Im getting confused now...lol

Oh well at least you can not get any lower in the level of your wit. That must be a good thing from your point of view as having reached the nadir you have no reason to strive for anything lower

It is an interior door from kitchen leading to garage. Garage itself has a door to garden and up & over door. Basically it was to maintain an extra level of security by having another heavy duty door to the house.

Okey dokey, then if you intend to change the door then you should make sure all of the frame and new door comply with the regs..
