Not at all. If they have received as many deposits as they need, why would they keep it open at the old rate? It could even be that they believe that longer term interest rates are going to be lower.

Once account has been opened online with nil balance - money CAN be deposited by BACS once the account has been activated (despite info to the contrary from their customer helpdesk) because (a) I've had a letter confirming it can be and (b) I've just done it.0
