Suspicious over Lloyds with PPI claim!

Hello, I knowingly had 2 loans with Lloyds, between 1998-1999. I contacted them as I was missold the PPI. However, I no longer have any documents and can only recall that the 1st loan was for approx. 3k, and then 8k I think for the 2nd. I have now received a letter and filled out the claim form. The letter I received from them quotes 3 account numbers for Lloyds! It's possible I had a 3rd loan and forgot, or maybe that number related to the current account I had with them at the time?
I spoke to them on the phone for clarification, but all they can advise me is that 2 of the accounts are dated as being 01/2005 whilst the other is 08/1999. I am suspicious because when I look at the account number, the newest and oldest numbers relate to the accounts they date 01/2005, where as the middle number is the one with the exact date I opened the account on. They say the 01/2005 is just a generic date offered when they have no further info available to them via the number I called to speak to Lloyds. They did say though that it was possible further information could be available to the team who would investigate my complaint.
The crux of this issue is that the account they can actually date is apparently for the lower amount that I want to claim against, but the higher amount on the loan taken afterwards seems to be one they have less information on, assuming this by the account numbers. I am suspicious because that account would yield me a much higher return and am wondering if they would miss lead me again to save themselves a higher payout. I know I can write to them to check any information that they have on me, but surely even then, I can only still rely on what they say or are willing to share with me, or tell me? Can they even delete information sine I contacted them to decrease or eradicate any potential pay out, or would this somehow show if I ask for my account history formally in writing?
Thanks, starman

See what they come back with, it is possible you took the 2nd loan out to repay the first, if this is the case then they will be linked so they will look at both, if it is possible you had a third, again, they will look at this, if not, then you will get the 2 looked at that you are complaining about.0

They would not include a current a/c in any correspondence they send you, only loan or card product references.0
