Help with Libre Office mail merge, starting from Calc

Eventually, I merged my document: 97 records which should have printed onto a single side each.
Once merged, this became a document of 193 pages. I have no idea why, because when I scrolled through each page, it was counting double, ie hopping from page 1 to page 3, so presumably there were imaginary even pages in there somewhere.
I tried to save it as a pdf, but it wasn't having it. So in faith I printed the merged Write document, and it's come out with the right no. of pages. Unfortunately whatever I did to suppress blank lines has gone a bit wrong: I don't have many people with anything in 'address line 2', and those without don't have a blank line, but those with just have a blank line rather than the actual data. Fortunately not many of them so I'll hand-write that.
Then I had printer / copier woes. My Win7 machine won't speak to the multi-function inkjet, which needs its cartridges cleaned, so I haven't been able to copy anything. Fortunately I have access to a laser printer, but that refuses to print multiple copies.
I've also realised we're sending out details of our Christmas meal without giving a deadline for booking, but having printed 100 copies that's going to have to be dealt with separately.
It's official, I HATE LibreOffice!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Sue, that sounds miserable. Have you thought about trying PDQit instead - you do the merge through their site, they do the print and post, and it's cheap.0 -
One issue is that I'm not doing this for a business, I'm doing it for a walking group. So if PDQ is cheaper than the cost of the stamps and the envelopes, I can consider it. If it's more, then I have to keep using the volunteers ...Sue, that sounds miserable. And I'm back. This time I need labels. I'm not even going to try, I shall send the file to work and produce a pdf there ...Signature removed for peace of mind0

I will maybe take a look at that next time. But this time, job done in half an hour before starting work. Would have been less than that but the printer was misbehaving ...Signature removed for peace of mind0
