Quote from BBC News
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-29387561Carmaker Vauxhall has warned owners of 3,000 of its cars not to drive them due to a steering problem.
The company said the vehicles affected were Adam, Corsa and Corsavan models registered since May this year.
There was an issue with a part used in the steering column that did not meet company standards, it said.
Opel, owned by US giant General Motors, issued a similar warning to its customers, saying 8,000 of its Adam and Corsa cars should be checked.
Vauxhall said: "As a precaution, these vehicles should not be driven prior to inspection."
Customers can find out if their car is affected by going to Vauxhall website homepage from Saturday for further information.

3000 people have bought brand new vauxhalls... Jesus.
If this was Toyota recalling a faulty light bulb it would have been front page news across Britain and about 10 threads on here about it.0 -
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Big difference between 3,000 cars with no injuries and 12 million, 5 deaths, massive cover up and over a billion dollar fine.0 -
With lowest tender wins, seems the most basic component, the hooke joint (an invention hundreds of years old) at the bottom of the steering column isn't up to the job. Not just a recall, but an instruction not to drive if within the VIN and part number range means it must be seriously shoddy.0

Jamie, GM was fined for their failure to report safety issues, involving their ignition switch. There were at least 13 deaths. The problem was known about by GM for 10 years before they did anything. GM was fined for this by NHTSA and given the biggest fine allowed by US law.0 -
I can't understand why Corsas are so popular. There are so many much better cars around for similar money.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0
