Long story short...used to get thse after birth of 1st child until they lowered the threshold, now with arrival of 2nd child and wife on a years maternity break our houshold income has dropped enough to qualify again...filling form in earlier and only income details they want are from the last tax year...do i need a different form or how do i let them know household income has dropped significantly this year?

You apply using income from last year, you will then receive a nil award and you ring them and give them an estimate of your income for this year.
However, you should be aware than the rules have changed in the last couple of years so they don't take into account the whole fall in income. They disregard the first 2,500 of the fall.
So if your income last year was 30,000 and you think your income this year will be 25,000, they would use 27500.
