  • Looks like active monitoring is the update monitoring. I'm happy enough to just let it check for updates when I run it so thanks for the heads up.
  • I think it's the other way round: System Monitoring is the update checker, Active Monitoring is checking in real time to see how much space could be saved by running the cleaner. If you leave 'Active Monitoring' checked, it adds itself to the startup programs.

If you uncheck active monitoring (in advanced options) it says...

and the system monitoring checkbox is associated with the Pro option of amount of saving and action.

Either way I don'twant another permanent background task running so I've disabled both. I've probably lost the update notification by doing that.
  • Mm. Still, if you leave active monitoring selected it triggers an entry in startup ending /MONITOR (can't be bothered to run it again to get the exact wording). There are some aspects of this new functionality that could do with clarifying.

I find it annoying that you apparently now need to have something running 24x7 to get the update available message. I certainly don't want it constantly checking how much it can clean.

Yes it's in the Start up menu but it's disabled so doesn't run if you don't want it to..
I don't believe it's anything to be paranoid about anyway. It's been part of the Pro version for a long time. There is nothing negative about it out there.
