Aww thanks a million for saying such nice things. Think lots of us have had hard times and so don't want to go back there.

I remember when we moved here we had (all new to us) a futon double bed, a microwave and a fridge-freezer, no jobs and about £100 in the bank. I know that if you want to you will get there.

Just thought - maybe you can put your target each month on your signature and then you won't have to hunt for it ;)

Good luck and just ask on here if you need any help as everyone very friendly and supportive.

I had some extra hours today so £25 to add and also did an MS meal tonight so another £13. Total today of £38 :T

Hope you all have a fantastic Friday

    £10 facebook sale! :j:j:j

Still lots to ebay/facebook - fingers crossed for more sales soon.

Well done on the Facebook sale:beer:.

I keep seeing Facebook sales mentioned by people on various threads so I think it's high time I checked it out myself. I don't even have a Facebook account at the moment:o and although I do reasonably well selling books, CDs and DVDs on Amazon I've become a bit disillusioned with eBay and need another place to sell things that don't fit Amazon's guidelines.

What a lovely thing to say, theemptypurse, and just what I think too:T. The best thing I've done on MSE (after years of lurkdom and occasional posting on other people's diaries etc) was joining this challenge.

A wonderful person on MSE sent me a PM about 18 months ago telling me about StepChange, which, to my embarrassment, I'd never heard of:o:o:o. I was so much in debt at that time, I was truly desperate. That set things going, I set up a DMP and have never looked back. Yes, money is incredibly tight, I still need to make extra money and make every possible saving of even a few pennies every day to survive every month. Not having any lines of credit/overdraft has been a killer:eek: but it has taught me to look at my life in a whole new way. If I don't physically have the cash ready I can't buy it/do it, it's as simple and scary as that

Being totally broke and in so much in debt is a lonely place to be.This thread and challenge, together with the fantastic support of other posters has been amazing. Thanks to you all:A

  • Sorry not posted much. I am here and earning though! I am keeping all of my earnings in PayPal but I am not declaring until the end of the month as I may need to dip into them. Up to £153 so far, combination of eBay and Bubblews and an Amazon sale.

I need to add stuff to ebay - maybe we can motivate each other? I hate listing on there so keep putting it off. How about we both try to list 5 things a day?

I've had a lot of fb sales this week and managed to pay some more off the mortgage - £325.28 extra paid off it now :) and i have a lot of invoices to do over the weekend. I'm actually thinking i might increase my target but i will see if i get to the £500 first ;)

Am still not doing a lot else - am bubbling regularly as nearly up to cashing out point for the first time now. Am doing the odd survey too when i can lol!

    Evening

I've just renewed DD1s railcard with £15 of Tesco vouchers and charged myself £30, the actual cost of the card. So the £30 can go in the fund.
I've also just done a Pinecone survey and redeemed £3. And there's another which I'll do sometime tonight when I'm in the mood!

Finally a couple of small ebay sales finish in a couple of days time so October isn't looking too bad!

Hope everybody is having a good month!
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.
