Private PCN- IG Security

Hello all,

I have had a PCN in Loughborough through IG security who seem to be operating in a private land leased from some other owners.

Now, as I see and dig- they are not listed in the BPA approved parking list and nor are the company they claim to be 'affiliated' to; something called 'IPC'. Not as far as I see anyway.

It's a notice on the windscreen and yes, it might be wise to wait for the NTK; however I have heard some horror stories from somebody who ran into a PCN from them before and had his car towed from his home! which is definitely ridiculous.

Any ideas on this one?

Their website is igsecurity.org but the PCN links will lead to paymypcn.net

Thanks in advance all

Yes - This is an IAS member - You need to read the Newbies Sticky and concentrate on the IAS-specific advice/links. There is also a parallell recent thread on IAS appeals that you need to read. :)

Towing/clamping has been illegal for two years. DEFINITELY wait for a NTK with any IPC member (unless you can't if you are not the keeper - i.e. hire/company car).

Your other option would be to pay £16 to ParkingTicketAppeals to handle it and take it away (guaranteed) which they would do now at an earlier stage. Your choice.

  • IPC member Globe Protection Limited (Company Number 07554967), trading as IG Security from a registered address at 94 New Walk, Leicester, LE1 7EA. This company had been dormant, but Companies House records that is now active.

The website https://www.igsecurity.org mentions neither the company's Registered Name nor its Company Number; this is a breach of Companies Trading Disclosure Regulations.

Maybe this company has been equally sloppy with its car park signs and / or PCNs. It’ll be worthwhile checking to see if the name “Globe Protection Limited” appears on the signs; if not, there’s no way that this company could have formed a valid contract with the driver.

Thank you all for your replies! I am intrigued by the ParkingTicketAppeals route. It sounds amazing for £16. I have been moving house currently and totally bogged down with work, its probably worth a go especially since they claim its guaranteed! I will keep you all updated with what route I choose.

    Cheers.

PTA was founded by two posters here (not me) and really will guarantee to handle it completely for £16 guaranteed with no repercussions.

That is excellent :) thanks very much. I have just noticed something else, reading through the PCN today to apply for stuff. They have my registration wrong on the PCN; does this mean they won't even be able to send me a NTK?

Unless they realise and correct it then, No - there will not be any NtK. (If it's a valid registration though then some other poor sap may find it landing on their doorstep). :)

Hi Bod, yes i checked it, its a valid registration and ironically, its the same make of car. Other details are very different but i suspect he or she will get the NTK. I wonder if I can ignore it in this case because the receipt of the PCN states a registration which isn't my car. And as far as them correcting it- it has been 14 days now and their website does not recognise the PCN with my registration so it is wrong on the their system.

Just ignore everything then. Hopefully the NtK recipient will find us here and learn how to kick this into touch rather than just paying it.
