O/S Daily Thread Friday 26th September
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Morning all
Payday yesterday, I went to get my hair cut & she's made a right pigging mess of it, lol, never mind it will grow out & it was only £13.50, I've had worse cuts & paid £50.
Macmillan cake sale today at work, I've made Chocolate brownies, lemon drizzle, victoria sponge & banana loaf. Lets hope we raise lots of money.
Time I set off, running late today
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Morning all,
Was pitch black when I got up this morning just started to get light now, I love the dark mornings / evenings a sure sign winter is on the way.
Off to work for me busy day but at least its Friday, I am so looking forward to the weekend.
Sistercas I hope a weekend at home helps your poor dd, I do think its all a bit overwhelming for them for a while, hope she is ok xx
Judi, I really feel your pain love, been there with dad and it was a long slow process but right till the very end there was still glimpses of my dad and his great sense of humour, so keep visiting and chatting they do appreciate it, I am here if you need a chat xx
Spag bol for dinner and a glass of wine of two seeing as its Friday
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning everyone
Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x
Hugs and get well wishes to those that want/need them.
Now light, very cloudy and overcast again, but forecast says it will brighten up later. Forecast is looking quite good for the weekend.
Dinner last night was spag bol, didn’t have all the normal bits I put in it, so made do, but it wasn’t quite the same as normal, although there was clean plates all round and no complaints.
On line order arrived, will be so glad when I can get back to choosing my own in the SM, I’m spending a fortune, then finding I don’t always have everything I need. Tonight’s dinner is a choice of 2 – whichever they don’t have tonight they’ll be eating tomorrow night.
Got the jobs that needed to be done yesterday – done. So house feels a bit better, but it won’t feel right until I’m back on my feet and can give it a proper clean and get everything put back to it’s proper home. My kitchen cupboards are a complete mess as the menfolk just chuck everything in, but I’m not saying anything to them as they’re all doing their best – has made them all realise how much I do!
Have a good Friday everyone x
Take care x
Keep safe and well x

Morning :hello:
TTFTM Another speechless person here. He shouldn't have to put with all that. Is there any way he can leave?
Molly Hope you get your op done ASAP. Please don't put your family first this time – it's you that's a priority now xx
Hester Good luck with your fundraising :T

Master tru is coming down to the cottage for a couple of days next week. I rang the owner to let her know and to pay a bit extra – they do a discount if there's only two people – she said there's no extra charge as we're regulars:T
B&B in Hanafore tonight, then Mevagissey tomorrow. I'm all calm and sorted, just eating my weetabix. I've packed some yarn to make the snake, not sure about the colours but never mind, lol. Mr tru has left some of his things til the last minute and will no doubt be rushing around like a mad thing – when he eventually gets out of bedI'll jump in the shower in a mo, then make some flasks. Then we're off – if mr tru is ready

Good morning everyone :hello:
It's a little bit misty out here this morning but I'm sure it will brighten up later on. I've got my shopping delivery this morning so I need to go and jump in the shower and get dressed or I will scare the driver :rotfl:. It's payday today so I will be paying all the bills in a minute as well.
Yesterday did not go well in the end. This is me before my appointment...:j and this is me after. I was ambushed by having my psychiatrist and a social worker in the room and they have been discussing changing my meds as they don't feel they are working well. The only problem with that is that I would have to go onto the psych ward for 'just' 2-3 weeks while I get a therapeutic level in my blood as I would need lots of monitoring as this drug can affect your heart, blood pressure and pancreas. Hmmmm, let me think about it for a sec!! I told them no obviously but they have given me a bit of time to think about it. Wow, just wow. Anyway, seeing as they rained on my parade I am having a quiet day today just knitting.
I will be catching up on the washing again, where does it all come from? I want to make a fruit cake too as I bought the ingredients after seeing the one frugal queen made the other day.
Before I forget, hope your cake sale goes well Hester and Tru, hope your holiday is fab, I love Mevagissey and around there, it's a beautiful part of the world and hopefully not as crowded now as in the Summer.
Hope everyone has a lovely lovely day whatever they are up to and loads of hugs to all who would want one, take care xx0 -
Morning all
hard up hester That's very good of you to bake so much, I hope the sale goes well.
nmlc reminds me of when I'm in hospital, I'll come out to a clean house but it's when I start opening cupboards or pull put sofas that I discover where the mess has gone. Nobody can do it as good as us!
tru Have a lovely time away.
Last night me a dd1 snook off with oh bank card and bought her some clothes and shoes.I did ask him for his card just not exactly what we were going to buy. When he seen how happy dd1 was he couldn't be cross. DD'S are always coming to me saying they need this and that and then when I tell OH about it, he'll say 'just go and buy her the shoes/coat etc' but won't goive me the money for them. Silly man.:)
On the downside the little bit of walking around the shopping centre has left me a little sore/uncomfortable but I've already tole the animal sanctuary I'll be in. I might only go in for an hour or so.
It looks like it's going to be a beautiful day here, not a cloud in the sky, so I'll get a wash on before we leave. Mum's dog is going home today, which I'm glad off, my grass is getting browner and it might nt grow back this late on.
Have a good day everyoneLBM 04/10:j

Good Morning x
Thank you for all the constructive comments re my op. i am very frightened having had such a difficult stay in hospital in July but need to suck it up and get on!
Hugs for an OS day xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Consumerism is.....buying things you don't need with money you don't have to impress people you don't know and probably wouldn't like even if you did know them.0 -
