Car purchase...change of mind

Hi everyone,
Apologies if this is in the wrong place.
My daughter has paid £100 on her Visa card for a brand new Vauxhall, from A national dealer, she agreed to buy it from our nearest dealer but the dealer decided she would have to buy it from another dealer further away, when she requested it was changed back to the original dealer they managed to persuade her it would be ok, she reluctantly agreed, even though she had to make 17, yes 17 phone calls to finalise the purchase. However, after being told she would receive a phone call today confirming delivery of car, the call never came so she has decided to cancel and take her business elsewhere.
She has sent them an email informing them of this.
Can someone tell me of her rights.... Does the 7 day cooling period rule apply? Can she get her full £100 back?
Does Visa give her any cover if not, it is with Nationwide
Many thanks

A credit card would only give her "cover" if the dealer had breached the contract. A debit card gives no "cover"
Did she go into the dealership at all? Did she pay in person? If so there is no statutory cooling off period as that only applies to transactions that are 100% done remotely to the legal entity in which you are contracting with. Obv needs to read her contract to see if they themselves give a cooling off period
The number of phonecalls in itself isnt 100% relevant, it depends why that number of calls were necessary - ie there fault, hers, the finance company's etc
It sounds like she is being a little petty to be honest, once you've signed on the dotted line many car dealerships lose interest in you even when you are buying a prestige mark. If she wants to spite them then it'll cost her £100 and probably find similar service elsewhere.
Given dealerships increasingly have many branches, make sure she does actually buy from another company rather than just a different branch of the same company0 -
Debit cards do give cover.
Was there a delivery date?Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0 -
Another post in a news thread? The answers the same. She's obligated to buy or lose her deposit AND possibly be required to pay additionally for dealer costs. It'll be in the new car order she signed.0

If it's a 'brand new' Vauxhall then it will have been spec-ed to her wishes. Colour, extras, etc.. Even it she's gone standard on everything, it will have been ordered to her requirements.
Pretty much no chance you'll get the deposit back I would think0 -
