1st time house insurer

I am currently named on my dad house insurance policy as joint policy holder with LV.


no claims for past 5 years on this policy. I am getting my own place can I take any credit for No claims discount for this?

  • Many home insurers dont use NCD in the same way as motor, a fair few dont use it at all.

    Whilst aggregators like confused.com do typically ask when you click through to the insurer you are interested in have a look to see what they have explicitly asked and see if its appropriate. If in doubt call them and ask BEFORE buying, personally I'd just say that you're currently a joint policyholder and are now moving out on your own without mentioning its your father unless they explicitly ask
