Ovo - no warm homes discount
Options
OVO energy is too small to be eligible for the Warm Homes Discount scheme which if you are a Pensioner or received Guaranteed Pension Credits means that you do not get the £140 (inc VAT) discount. This in effect means that when comparing energy prices you need to take £140 off a larger company to get a fair comparision with OVO. It's too late to change now as you were assessed on 14th July 2014. OVO should have told you when you signed up but they don't. I have reported this to BBC Watchdog and Which Magazine as well as to MoneySavingExpert. I'm very unhappy about this.

Its common knowledge DartNick, thousands of posts on MSE and millions elsewhere. Its on the Ovo website, it says :Does OVO offer the Warm Home scheme
"""Not at the moment, because we’d rather give all our customers better service and the best possible value. We work hard to provide the most competitive fixed tariffs and feel this is the best way to help our customers manage their energy bills."""
Best of luck my friend. !Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. It's up to the customer to check eligibility for this if it's a factor for them-why would Watchdog or anyone else be interested because you failed to check? No free lunch, and no free laptop0

This is one of the reasons the small companies may work out cheaper. They do not have the social obligations the bigger ones have to adhere to. I think a company has to have more than 250,000 customers to be obliged to take part.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0
