How long does it take from survey being carried out to receiving report?

I'm a first time buyer so please forgive me. I had a survey carried out on the house I'm planning to buy on Saturday 13th Sept. I contacted the surveyor last Friday asking when I could expect his report and was told it would be issued on Monday or Tuesday. Its now Thursday and I still haven't received it. I've tried chasing up the surveyor again and am waiting for him to get back to me. This all seems a rather long time to me and I'm getting pretty fed up now. Is it usual for it to take this long?

Full survey or homebuyer?
Couple of weeks is quite normal for a full, I'd be starting to wonder by now but not annoyed. They are quite long.0 -
Our homebuyers survey was carried on the 22nd August & after many phone calls was eventually emailed on the 23rd September. Hard copy arrived yesterday. Our buyer had full survey done on 16th September and he got his report on 23rd September. Caused so much extra stress having to wait so long for our report. Kept being told it was being sent out. Hope yours arrives soon.0

Full survey. Thanks both for your replies, I feel better now. Guess I'll just have to learn to be a bit more patient. Unfortunately the house I tried to buy previously fell through, largely because the (different) surveyors kept delaying when they were going and its left me a bit more nervous about the process than I would be otherwise!0

Recently I had a full survey carried out on a Tuesday, telephone conversation later that afternoon, email report the next day, and the full hardcopy on Thursday.
The survey was positive and revealed no problems so probably didn't take too long to process.
I expect it depends on the area, how busy they are and what secretarial support they have. I imagine that if there were major problems the surveyor would have contacted you quite soon after the survey.0 -
Doesn't sound like that you're getting the service you have paid for. We used Countrywide. The surveyor rung up beforehand to ask if there were any concerns / something we specificly wanted looking at and advised that she aims to write up reports within 48hours. Survey carried in afternoon and report was emailed next morning with hard copies recieved in post 48 hrs later. Nothing major picked up so a straight forward and I guess generic in style report. I'd start complaining if they have said Monday / Tuesday and failed to deliver after already taking so long0
