Only non-certified copy of will available - what to do?

    I know that this discussion has moved on since the question was asked, but it is possible to prove a will when all you have is a photocopy and no original. It's a bit of a palaver, the Probate Office might say 'no', and so you'd have to have a good reason for wanting the copy will proved, rather than going to intestacy. But it is possible. There is an established legal process for so doing.

    A certified copy has no standing in Probate's eyes - they require the original


    A certified copy is a bank requirement - which could vary between banks. Though if you are getting Probate they shouldn't require it at all

    The "copy" from the Probate Office is a certified copy as it is embossed with their seal.
