I ordered some card over the phone last week and I was told I would be charged £29 per box. It arrived on Monday this week and I've just received an invoice for two boxes, plus £7.95 postage, plus VAT on it all. The total comes to £79.14, rather than the £58 for two boxes that I was led to expect.
I wasn't informed that there would be a postage charge or that the prices excluded VAT. I know that under the DSR I could just return the card and not pay the invoice, but I think the return postage would cost a fair bit, so I'd rather ask the company to come and collect it. Can I do this?

Did you make this purchase as a consumer?KatharineMMA wrote: »Can I do this?
If not, then DSRs (now superceded by CCRs) do not apply.
If you are a consumer, then yes you can ask them to collect, but you can probably expect them to charge for this.0 -
Also what sort of "cards" are these? Personalised business cards?
If you are talking to printers then they'll be working on a B2B basis in which case it is standard practice to discuss the net price (ie exc VAT)
The question of if there is a charge for postage was really for you to ask, I'd always assume that there is one as if there is free P&P they always tend to make a song and dance about it.
Of cause this was done on the telephone and I didnt hear what was said. It could be they misrepresented the price but the problem with verbal contracts is proving what was said.0
