After 6 years they start deleting, doubtful they'll have statements going back to 2001.0

1987 is 27 years ago! :eek:i requested statements for my accounts from 1987 to 2001
Banks typically keep records for around six years. If you closed your account in 2001, there will be no statements still on file for you.they state they cannot provide this information as they have no longer records of my credit card statements
This is a gesture of goodwill to apologise for not responding to your (unreasonable) request for 14 years of statements from two decades ago.they sent me a cheque for £30 for having not recieved correspondence
The Ombudsman will not be able to somehow force the bank to provide records that no longer exist. If the Bank had replied in a timely fashion, you really would have no complaint at all. Your sense of entitlement is rather staggering, to be honest.if i am unhappy to contact the financial ombudsman service who i have already contacted regarding this
OP wants fourteen years PRIOR to 2001!:eek:societys_child wrote: »doubtful they'll have statements going back to 2001.0 -

It depends very much on whether the account is still open. In the Op's case, there is no chance of receiving fourteen years of historical statements when the account was itself closed nearly fourteen years ago.It seems to depend on whether you have an active account or not.
Long term customers do find that records are kept more diligently and for longer.0
