Halifax Mortgage PPI Question *not sure*

Hi Everyone,
Sorry if I am being repetitive or stupid but hopefully this will be an easy answer.
I took out a Halifax Mortgage in June 2008 via a mortgage broker. I also took our a life insurance and mortgage protection policy as he recommended it would be "advisable".
I want to know how I could know if I might be eligible for PPI (if at all). What would I need to look for on my mortgage offer or otherwise. It does say on the Halifax Mortgage offer that insurance is necessary but not directly from Halifax.
At this time, I just want to know if I potentially have a case or shall I close the door from now.
If anyone has some insight that would be very much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Makes sense as it is advisable for most people. Which is why you see so few mortgage insurance complaints.I want to know how I could know if I might be eligible for PPI (if at all). Are you saying you want PPI and want to check your are eligible? Ot hat you want to complain about PPI that you are not sure you even have?At this time, I just want to know if I potentially have a case or shall I close the door from now.
You havent said if you have MPPI. You havent said what your reasons for complaint would be. So, we cant answer your question without that detail.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). PPI is Payment Protection Insurance, not some form of compensation payment that you may be "eligible" for. If you have Payment Protection Insurance on your mortgage, then you need to examine in what way (if any) it may have been mis-sold to you. If it was somehow mis-sold to you, then you will be awarded a refund (plus interest) of the cost of your PPI policy.
However, there is nothing in your post which indicates that you even had PPI. Have you checked your mortgage documentation?0
