I have only won once on Twitter and it was one I came across and entered just before it closed which fits in with Di's comments on having success with late entries

In fairness, Twitter has never really been fair. I would guess a lot of Facebook ones aren't either. Between the auto RT bots, every man and his dog one click entering on various sites ect, all the usual multiple accounts plus the sheer amount of folk entering it's hardly worth the time is it?

I can't see anything changing either. Most bigger companies likely already use some kind of program to pick winners and most small ones will likely just pick the first name that pops up rather than spend money on a program or spend hours tracking entries.

i have won a few times on twitter - i only ever use 1 account (my personal one) and usually only retweet once. sometimes at bgginging or sometimes near end date
always been bigger companies tho and never big prizes

Interesting to see what happens if you go through and delete old competition RT's and untweet those you can't delete.

Yesterday when I used the suggested search method (mentioned on the OP's link) only four of my tweets came up- no competition tweets showed.

After a cull of old RT's the search showed up a lot more of my tweets- including those that I couldn't delete, just untweet. And a RT I did afterwards.

I'd also made a few random comments, but that had made no difference before.

So it looks like regularly clearing out old RT's may improve your chances...

I did them individually. Went to my tweets page and went through.

It's probably a good idea to do this regularly anyway.

Those RT's that show up as big boxes with the RT and picture in, and you can't delete them, I just clicked the RT symbol to remove my tweet, although the tweet link will still show up in your list of tweets it's no longer seen as a competition RT.

How do you delete retweets please ? I can see how to click the RTsymbol to remove my tweet, but do not know how to delete retweets.

Any tips please, thanks.
