Looking for free hosting to store a .doc file with 10 to 50 dowloads a day

I need a simple thing - publish a word document available to download with a link by 10 to 50 visitors a day. I used Google Docs, but it started to keep saying "Too many users have viewed or downloaded this file recently. Please try accessing the file again later", thank you Google, I always believed in you!
With Dropbox you cannot change a document without changing a link - how convenient!
So, are there simple alternatives which... just work?

Tried Microsoft's Onedrive? That might be what you're looking for.

Or if you're wanting people to be able to change a document, then Office online? It's free also.

I just tried with Dropbox and that works fine.
I created a plain text file in the "Public" folder containing the word !!!!!!!s", and checked the public URL in Firefox -- sure enough the page shows !!!!!!!s". I modified the original file to say "oranges", refreshed the web page, and it showed the new file contents.
I'm not sure if Dropbox has any up/download limits, but it's dead straightforward (on my PC anyway!)0 -
Really?! B-A-N-A-N-A-S is a swearword now?!
No wonder my greengrocer keeps giving me evil looks!0 -
I'm eating a banana whilst reading this thread.

Hmm - banana is OK, how about bananas?
That's OK too. Weird.0 -

Well, I surrounded my bananas with double quotation marks: !!!!!!!s". That should do it!
You can say the word... you just can't quote anyone on the matter!0 -
That may be because " bananas " with quotes can be deemed a derogatory term. (My God! He's utterly !!!!!!!s"!)

What would MSE do if it was decided that a pling was derogatoryThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
