new current account

I want to open one of the new current accounts on offer with halifax. The 7 day switch automatically moves all ur direct debits from your old account to your new account but i want to know if it switches all your incoming payments to your new accounts like benefits, tax credits and wages. If anyone has changed and knows I would like to know and find out how you got on with the 7 day switch.

many thanks. :)

Any credits, including regular credits such as salary, pension, and benefits, sent to the old account will be redirected to the new account for 13 months following switch completion.

In addition, the payees are notified of the new account details.

However, I wouldn't risk them getting it wrong! So contact the payees directly yourself.

Can't answer your question as to how it went, because I haven't, and wouldn't ever, switch my main account through the CASS. I only ever switch donor accounts for switching incentives.

If you're considering switching to Halifax you ought to read the information on their site re switching...

    http://www.halifax.co.uk/bankaccounts/switch-to-halifax/

...where you'll see "Day 8 onwards" answers your question.

And see this for general info on the CASS...
